Morten Andersen

Co-Founder & Lead Critic, Where To Eat Dubai

Morten Andersen is co-founder and lead critic of Where To Eat Dubai, which he runs 50/50 with co-founder Fredrik Filipsson. Dubai-based since 2021, he eats out across the city every week, writing reviews, area guides, and ranked lists with a particular eye for value, consistency, and service.

A Scandinavian transplant with a serious appetite for Dubai's range, Morten splits his weeks between the city's neighbourhood institutions and its newest openings — equally at home three plates deep in a packed Bur Dubai canteen or working through a DIFC tasting menu. He catalogues every meal with receipts, photographs, and on-the-night notes.

His editorial line matches the house rule: pay for the meal, arrive unannounced, disclose anything comped, and rank honestly. Where To Eat Dubai does not accept paid reviews or pay-for-placement in ranked lists.

Editorial policy

Every restaurant review on Where To Eat Dubai is based on a live visit. We pay for our own meals in the vast majority of cases. When a meal is hosted, we say so, and we do not publish ranked positions on best-of lists based on hosted experiences. Read the full methodology or how we rank.
