The Full Rankings
CLAW BBQ โ The Beach JBR
The undisputed king of JBR dining. Immense smoked BBQ ribs, king crab legs by the pound, and a buzzing atmosphere that feels like the best beach shack you've ever been to. Sharing platters feed 4 comfortably for AED 500โ600 total. The 48-hour smoked beef ribs are a Dubai legend. Book at least 3 days ahead for weekends.
Ammos Greek Restaurant โ Rixos Premium JBR
The most romantic restaurant in JBR. Sea-facing terrace, live Greek music on weekends, and cooking that genuinely rivals what you'd eat in Mykonos. The Friday Thalassa Brunch is exceptional (AED 295 soft / AED 355 house beverages). Whole fish grilled over charcoal is the signature move โ order it always.
Catch22 โ The Beach JBR
Contemporary, confident Asian cooking with one of the best sea-view terraces at The Beach. The menu spans Japanese, Thai, and pan-Asian influences without feeling scattered โ everything is executed well. The tuna tataki with truffle ponzu (AED 135) is the dish that puts this restaurant on the map.
Bosporus Turkish Restaurant โ The Walk JBR
The late-night institution on The Walk that never drops its standards. Open until 2am, Bosporus is where you go after a beach club session or when you need the kind of hearty Turkish grilling that feels like a genuine neighbourhood meal. The unlimited kebab package (AED 145) is one of JBR's great value propositions.
Bombay Bungalow โ The Beach JBR
Mumbai bungalow colonial aesthetic meets modern Indian cooking by celebrity chef Hari Nayak. The small plates are inspired and the curries are richly spiced without being heavy โ a genuinely modern take on Indian food that stands out in a city with no shortage of Indian restaurants.
For JBR restaurants on The Beach, always request an outdoor sea-facing terrace when booking โ most venues have both indoor and outdoor seating, but the terrace tables are booked first. Call the restaurant directly (not just via app) and specifically mention "outdoor terrace with sea view" to secure the best seats.
The Maine Oyster Bar & Grill โ The Walk JBR
The lobster roll (AED 145) is the best in the neighbourhood โ the kind of classic East Coast seafood shack dish that Dubai rarely gets right, but The Maine nails it every time. Fresh oysters, decent wine list, outdoor terrace. Reliably excellent and unpretentious.
Hurricane's Grill โ The Walk JBR
The OG of The Walk, still delivering flame-grilled perfection a decade on. Australian-owned, no-nonsense, genuinely great steak at prices that won't make you wince. The 400g ribeye with Hurricane's signature rib sauce (AED 175) is the reason this place has outlasted dozens of trend-driven competitors.
Rosa's Thai โ The Walk JBR
This British import has brought authentic Bangkok street food energy to JBR, and it works beautifully. Everything is sourced directly from Thailand โ the fish sauce, the palm sugar, the pastes. The massaman lamb (AED 115) is a slow-cooked revelation and the green papaya salad (AED 65) is the best version we've found in Dubai.
Eat Greek Kouzina โ The Walk JBR
Where Ammos is the special-occasion Greek restaurant, Eat Greek Kouzina is the everyday version โ and it's outstanding value. Generous sharing plates, proper pita bread, tzatziki you'll want to eat with a spoon. The souvlaki platter (AED 115 for two) feeds a small family. Outdoor terrace, relaxed atmosphere, no pretension.
Operation Falafel โ The Walk JBR
The best budget option in JBR, full stop. Authentic Levantine street food: crispy falafel wraps (AED 25), shawarma plates (AED 45), hummus with warm pita (AED 35). Come here for a quick lunch before the beach or a cheap post-swim snack. Don't sleep on the knafeh for dessert (AED 30) โ it's genuinely excellent.
