Nobu by the Beach: The Royal's Casual Sister Concept

A separate venue from the main Nobu Dubai upstairs. Beach setting, lighter menu, and arguably the best sushi-and-sunset combination on Palm Jumeirah.

Nobu by the Beach at Atlantis The Royal is the casual sister concept to Nobu Dubai (which sits upstairs at Atlantis The Palm next door). Same Nobuyuki Matsuhisa-Robert De Niro kitchen DNA, completely different idiom: beachfront terrace, daytime service, lighter menu, music up after 4pm.

We've eaten here six times — twice at lunch, twice at sunset, twice at dinner. The verdict: this is one of the best sushi-and-sunset combinations on Palm Jumeirah right now, and at lunch it's a stealth value play.

Currently open as of May 2026.

The Setting: Palm Beach, Sunset Side

Nobu by the Beach Atlantis Royal terrace at sunset

The room sits on the West-facing beach at Atlantis Royal — sun-drenched until 4pm, then the terrace becomes one of the most-photographed sunset spots on the Palm. Cabanas, beach loungers (separate booking), and dining tables under shade structures.

Indoor dining room is air-conditioned with floor-to-ceiling glass facing the beach. Bar runs along the back wall. Music programmed by an in-house resident DJ; daytime is house-light, sunset is more energetic.

Family-friendly until 6pm; 21+ vibe after 8pm. Kids' menu available.

The Food: Lighter Nobu

The menu is structured for casual rather than tasting-menu dining. Sushi rolls, sashimi, robata items, salads, and a dedicated 'snack' section designed for sharing alongside cocktails. The signature Nobu canon — black cod miso, yellowtail jalapeño — is on the menu but priced lower than at the main Nobu (AED 175 vs AED 195 for black cod).

The Five Must-Orders

Nobu by the Beach black cod miso
★ Signature

Black Cod with Miso

AED 175

Same recipe as main Nobu — den miso marinade, grilled to caramelised. AED 20 cheaper than upstairs and identical in execution. The dish that earns the trip.

Nobu salmon new style tacos
★ Beach-Friendly

Salmon New Style Tacos (3)

AED 95

Three crispy seaweed taco shells, salmon ceviche, jalapeño, ponzu. Designed for beach-club eating — neat, two-bite portions, holds well in heat. Best snack on the menu.

Nobu yellowtail sashimi yuzu
★ Refreshing

Yellowtail Sashimi Yuzu

AED 145

Six slices of hamachi over yuzu-soy with crispy garlic chips. The cleanest dish on the menu and the right pre-sunset opener.

Nobu sushi platter 16 pieces
★ For Groups

Sushi Platter (16 pieces)

AED 395

Mixed nigiri and rolls — 16 pieces, designed for a table of four. Includes rainbow roll, dragon roll, salmon nigiri. The room's value play for groups.

Nobu lychee martini cocktail
★ Sunset Cocktail

Lychee Martini

AED 95

House signature — lychee, sake, vodka, fresh ginger. Order it at 5pm and watch the Atlantis Royal sunset over the Palm fronds.

The Menu — What to Order, What to Skip

💡 Pro Tip For two people at lunch: 2x lunch sets at AED 195pp = AED 390. Includes one cold + one hot + one signature dish + dessert. Best Nobu-canon-on-a-budget play in Dubai. For sunset: black cod, tacos, yellowtail sashimi, two cocktails = AED 700 of food and drink for two.

The Verdict

Nobu by the Beach is what you wished beach-club food was. Same kitchen pedigree as the main Nobu, lighter menu, half the formality, similar quality on the signatures. The lunch set at AED 195pp is the entry point most Dubai locals don't know about and one of the city's quiet bargains for fine-dining-quality cooking.

Best sushi-and-sunset combo on Palm. Lunch set is a steal.

Why It's Worth It

  • Same kitchen DNA as Nobu Dubai upstairs
  • Lunch set at AED 195pp is a stealth bargain
  • Best beachfront sunset spot at Atlantis Royal
  • Black cod cheaper than main Nobu
  • Family-friendly until 6pm
  • Full Nobu cocktail program

Things to Know

  • Less omakase / no tasting menu
  • Books 1–2 weeks for prime sunset
  • Hot lunch outdoor in summer is rough
  • Service slightly slower than main Nobu
  • Beach-club ticket separate (cabana booking)
  • Music up after 8pm — not for quiet dinner

If you want the Nobu signatures without the AED 1,800-for-two main Nobu spend, this is the room. Lunch set is the cleanest entry point. Sunset cocktails on the terrace are the best non-fine-dining beach-club move on Palm Jumeirah right now.

Compare against: Nobu Dubai upstairs at Atlantis The Palm — main flagship, fuller menu, formal room. Cove Beach at Bluewaters is the head-to-head beach-club sushi peer; Nobu by the Beach edges on food, Cove edges on pool.
