▲ Part of: Top 20 Restaurants on Palm Jumeirah
Some of my favourite Dubai dinners have ended with my shoes off and sand underfoot — and almost all of them were on either Palm Jumeirah or in Dubai Marina. The two waterfronts are the city’s great coastal dining strips, and choosing between Palm Jumeirah and Marina comes down to the night you want. The Palm is resort dining: sweeping beach-club terraces, signature hotel restaurants, the sense of having escaped the city. The Marina is the buzzy, walkable opposite — a glittering canal lined with restaurants at every budget, Pier 7’s seven-storey stack, and a promenade that never quite stops.
Here’s how to choose, and the four tables we’d book on each.
Choose Palm Jumeirah if…
- You want resort glamour and a proper beach-and-sunset backdrop
- It’s a milestone occasion worth the splurge
- You’re staying at one of the Palm’s resorts
- You’d rather arrive by boat or taxi than walk a strip
Choose Dubai Marina if…
- You want a walkable promenade with options at every budget
- You’re a group that can’t agree on one cuisine
- You like a lively, see-the-yachts buzz
- You want to bar-hop after dinner without a taxi
The case for Palm Jumeirah
For occasion dining with a resort backdrop, the Palm is unmatched. These four are worth the drive in.
#1 Ossiano
Ossiano dines you beside a floor-to-ceiling aquarium at Atlantis.
Why it makes the list. Dinner against a floor-to-ceiling aquarium wall, with one of the region’s most ambitious seafood tasting menus. The Palm’s definitive special-occasion restaurant and a genuine bucket-list table.
What to order: The signature seafood tasting menu (around AED 950); the wine pairing is the full experience. Book a Table →
#2 101 Dining Lounge
101 sits over the water — and you can arrive by boat.
Why it makes the list. An overwater Mediterranean-and-seafood spot at One&Only the Palm with skyline views back across the water — and the rare Dubai luxury of arriving by boat. Sunset here is the move.
What to order: The seafood platter (around AED 350 to share) and the grilled catch of the day; book for golden hour. Book a Table →
#3 BOA Steakhouse
BOA pairs serious steaks with a glamorous Palm terrace.
Why it makes the list. A glossy, design-led steakhouse with a see-and-be-seen terrace — prime cuts, a long cocktail list and the kind of room that makes a Palm night feel like an event.
What to order: A dry-aged cut from the grill (market price) with truffle fries (around AED 60). Book a Table →
Get the next list first — The Dubai Fork lands every Thursday.
#4 Ariana’s Persian Kitchen
Ariana’s brings refined Persian cooking to Atlantis The Royal.
Why it makes the list. Refined, generous Persian cooking in a jewel-box room at Atlantis The Royal — saffron, slow-cooked stews and rice done properly. A standout that isn’t another steak-or-sushi night.
What to order: The zereshk polo with chicken (around AED 130) and the fesenjan; the saffron rice is the star. Book a Table →
The case for Dubai Marina
For a buzzy, walkable waterfront with something for every budget and group, the Marina delivers. These four span the range.
#1 Asia Asia
Asia Asia anchors Pier 7 with theatrical pan-Asian dining.
Why it makes the list. A theatrical pan-Asian journey up at Pier 7, with marina views, a long cocktail list and dim sum that punches above the scene. The Marina’s reliable group-dinner crowd-pleaser.
What to order: The wagyu gyoza (around AED 75) and the pad Thai (around AED 80); a cocktail on the terrace first. Book a Table →
#2 Bussola
Bussola does beachfront Italian on the Marina’s edge.
Why it makes the list. A beachfront Italian with a wood-fired pizza terrace downstairs and a more formal dining room above — a rare Marina spot where you actually get sand and sea rather than canal and tower.
What to order: A wood-fired pizza (around AED 90) on the beach terrace; the homemade pasta upstairs if you’re dressing up. Book a Table →
#3 Beirut sur Mer
Beirut sur Mer brings coastal Lebanese cooking to the Marina walk.
Why it makes the list. Coastal Lebanese cooking right on the Marina promenade — fresh mezze, charcoal grills and seafood, with a terrace made for people-watching over the yachts. Generous and good value for the setting.
What to order: The fattoush (around AED 45), a mixed grill to share, and the grilled sea bass; the hummus is a must. Book a Table →
#4 Black Tap
Black Tap is the Marina’s fun, budget-friendly burger stop.
Why it makes the list. The budget-and-family end of the Marina — craft burgers and over-the-top CrazyShakes that prove the district isn’t all expense-account dining. Proof that the Marina works at every price.
What to order: The All-American burger (around AED 70) and a CrazyShake to split (around AED 55). Book a Table →
How We Picked These Tables
We chose four tables in each district that capture what it does best — the Palm’s resort-scale occasion dining and the Marina’s buzzy, range-of-budgets waterfront — weighting food, setting and value for the night out. Every restaurant was visited and paid for by us in 2025–26.
