We've spent a very enjoyable number of evenings working through Business Bay's restaurant scene — from the 70th-floor Italian splendour of Fi'lia to a AED 48 burger at Pickl eaten standing up near Bay Avenue. This is the ranked list we keep updating as new places open and old favourites remind us why they made the cut in the first place.
Each entry includes our most recent verdict, the dishes you must order, and honest pricing so you can plan your visit without surprises.
The Definitive Ranked List
Fi'lia 9.2/10
The finest Italian restaurant in Business Bay and arguably in Dubai. Chef Sara Aqel's kitchen produces burrata that dissolves, pastas that sing, and wood-fired fish that justifies the cab fare from anywhere in the city. The 70th-floor views are just the bonus.
Prime68 9.0/10
Two floors below Fi'lia and even more vertigo-inducing in the best possible way. The dry-aged USDA Prime and Japanese Wagyu are among the best steaks we've eaten anywhere in the UAE. The 400g striploin is the move — don't let anyone convince you otherwise.
ROKA Business Bay 8.9/10
ROKA is about what happens over a charcoal robata grill, not in a sushi case. The black cod with yuzu miso is one of Dubai's great dishes. The terrace has Burj Khalifa views that make the cocktail prices feel reasonable. The lunchtime set (AED 125) is Business Bay's best value meal.
Treehouse — Taj Dubai 8.7/10
The rooftop that defined Business Bay's social scene for years and continues to deliver. Greenery-draped terrace, Burj Khalifa sightlines, sharing plates that are better than they look on the menu, and a cocktail list that justifies a second round. Best at dusk.
High Society — The Lana 8.4/10
Michelin-starred chef Jean Imbert's Dubai outpost is light, elegant, and thoroughly worth the dress code. Small plates designed for sharing, exceptional Champagne, and a 30th-floor perch that puts the whole city below you. The wagyu tartare is close to perfection.
Positions #6 — #15
The Maine Business Bay 8.5/10
The neighbourhood anchor that Business Bay residents never get tired of. Brilliant burgers, genuinely fun cocktail happy hour, one of the district's best brunches (AED 285), and the lobster mac and cheese (AED 145) that we still dream about. Reliably excellent.
Qbara 8.3/10
Arabic cuisine done with genuine finesse. The dining room is stunning — deep blacks, geometric gold screens, candlelight — and the food earns its setting: slow-cooked lamb shoulder, brilliant mezze, and a date pudding that is better than any dessert has a right to be.
Rüya 8.1/10
Chef Colin Clague's Anatolian kitchen is a revelation if you've only ever experienced Turkish cuisine as kebab shops and baklava. Rüya works through the full breadth of Anatolia — Black Sea hamsi, Central Anatolian lamb, Aegean seafood — with serious technical skill. The lahmacun is extraordinary.
Tong Thai 7.9/10
The best Thai in Business Bay and one of the most reliable lunch spots in the district. The green curry (AED 75) is properly spiced without concession to Western heat tolerance, the pad thai is the real article, and the mango sticky rice (AED 45) is an essential finish.
La Farine Café & Bakery 7.8/10
The best business lunch deal in Business Bay, full stop. Two courses for AED 115, three for AED 129, available Monday to Friday 12–4pm. The croissants are the finest in the district and the counter pastries will have you developing a daily habit. Essential.
St Tropez Bistro 7.6/10
A proper French bistro that Business Bay frankly needed. Onion soup (AED 55), steak frites (AED 135), crème brûlée (AED 48) — all executed without the theatre or the markup of the big hotel restaurants. The set lunch (AED 99) is exceptional value.
Punjab Grill 7.5/10
Modern Punjabi fine dining that elevates the classics without losing what makes them great. The dal makhani (AED 65) has been slow-cooking for 24 hours and it shows. The lamb rogan josh (AED 135) and naan basket (AED 45) are the move. Book for Thursday evenings.
Pickl 7.4/10
Dubai's most beloved smash-burger brand, and the Bay Avenue outpost is consistently excellent. The Classic Pickl (AED 48) is the only burger in Business Bay that can challenge The Maine's version, the shakes (AED 32) are properly thick, and the whole operation is reliably fast. Essential cheap eat.
Certa — JW Marriott Marquis 7.3/10
The JW Marriott Marquis's Italian restaurant punches well for a hotel offering: proper Neapolitan-style pizza, handmade pasta, and a wine list that knows its Italian geography. The lunch deal (AED 125 for two courses with water) keeps it on heavy rotation for Business Bay workers.
Filli Café 7.2/10
The Dubai institution. Filli's Business Bay outlets are the breakfast and morning meeting staple for half the area's residents. The Karak chai (AED 5) is the thing; the Masala omelette (AED 22) and the Bun Maska (AED 8) round out a breakfast that costs less than a cocktail elsewhere.
