Italian food is one of Dubai's most competitive dining categories — and that's saying something in a city where every cuisine on earth is fighting for attention. The combination of a large Italian expat and tourist community, a universal appetite for pasta and pizza, and Dubai's obsession with Venetian and Milanese glamour has produced a genuinely impressive Italian restaurant scene.
The range is excellent: from hole-in-the-wall Neapolitan pizza at AED 85 to Cipriani's white-tablecloth Venetian power dining at AED 500 per head. We've eaten through all of it. Here is our honest guide — no paid placements, no sponsored entries.
Our Top Italian Restaurants in Dubai
Cipriani — DIFC
Cipriani is Dubai's most recognisable Italian restaurant — the global brand that began in Venice's Hotel Cipriani, home of the Bellini and carpaccio alla Cipriani, has been the anchor of DIFC's Gate Village since 2010. This is where serious deals get done over plates of hand-made tagliolini and glasses of vintage Barolo. The white tablecloths, impeccable service, and the quiet confidence of the room signal that this is a restaurant that takes its heritage seriously.
The carpaccio alla Cipriani (AED 145, paper-thin Wagyu, mustard dressing, rocket — as it was originally served in Venice in 1950) remains one of Dubai's great dishes. The risotto al salto (AED 155, crispy leftover risotto cake, saffron and Parmigiano) is a signature. The pasta is hand-made daily — the tagliolini al pomodoro (AED 135) is the benchmark. The Bellini (AED 85, white peach purée and Prosecco) is non-negotiable as an aperitivo.

Reservation Tip
Book 2 weeks ahead for Thursday and Friday dinner. Business lunch (Mon–Fri) is easier — 5 days usually sufficient. Request the banquette seating. The private dining room (14 seats) is one of DIFC's best corporate dining options.
Best Time to Visit
Weekday lunch for the power-lunch experience in a quieter room. Thursday dinner for the full Cipriani atmosphere. The terrace in winter evenings is beautiful but limited — request early when booking.
Scalini — Four Seasons Resort, Jumeirah
Scalini at the Four Seasons Resort is the best Italian restaurant in Dubai for a genuinely romantic dinner. The sunken garden terrace — white tablecloths, candlelight, the sound of the fountain, discreet service — is one of the loveliest dining settings in the entire city. Inside, the cool white-and-modern-art interior has its own appeal. The food is contemporary Italian with a focus on hand-made pasta and the finest imported Italian ingredients.
The burrata with heirloom tomatoes (AED 115) arrives in a cloud of olive oil and basil and is the freshest starter in Dubai. The black truffle pasta (AED 175, seasonal) is extraordinary when the truffles are good — and they import directly. The osso buco Milanese (AED 235, served tableside with risotto alla Milanese) is the signature main course and worth every dirham.

Reservation Tip
Book 2 weeks ahead for the garden terrace. Request specifically "terrace table" — indoor and outdoor are different experiences. Winter months (Oct–April) are the peak terrace season. Pairs perfectly with a pre-dinner walk on the beach.
Best Time to Visit
Sunset dinner in winter — the garden lights come on at dusk and the terrace transforms. Thursday evening for the occasion atmosphere. Sunday lunch is more relaxed and beautiful in cooler weather.
Hand-made pasta is the gold standard at Dubai's top Italian restaurants — tagliatelle, pappardelle, and ravioli made fresh daily with imported semolina
Roberto's — DIFC
Roberto's is the Italian restaurant we recommend most often for DIFC dinners that need to be reliably excellent without the theatre of Cipriani or the occasion-only pricing. The food is confidently contemporary Italian — the kitchen has clear ideas about what it wants to cook, and those ideas are executed consistently. The pasta programme is the strongest in DIFC: the linguine alle vongole (AED 145) with fresh clams and local garlic is perfectly balanced.
The terrace at Roberto's is one of DIFC's most popular outdoor tables — reserve it specifically when booking, especially October to April. The business lunch menu (AED 195, three courses, Mon–Fri) is exceptional value for the quality and setting.

Mid-Range & Casual Italian: AED 120–280
Dubai's mid-range Italian scene is genuinely strong — these are the restaurants we visit most often for weeknight dinners and group gatherings.
BiCE — Hilton Dubai Creek
The Dubai outpost of the Milanese original has maintained quality since 1989. Warm-lit room, white-aproned waiters, and a menu that respects tradition. The risotto Milanese (AED 130) and the hand-made pappardelle with lamb ragù (AED 145) are classics. Reliable for the pasta-and-wine evening.
Bussola — W Dubai
Neapolitan pizza certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana — the real DOC standard, San Marzano tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, and a wood-fired oven. The Margherita DOP (AED 95) is legitimately one of the top 5 pizzas in Dubai. Great terrace in winter months.
Piola — Multiple Locations
The Italian casual staple that Dubai needed — reliable pizza, decent pasta, consistent service, and sensible prices in JLT and DIFC. Not destination dining, but the place you rely on when you want Italian food without fuss. The thin-crust four-cheese (AED 85) is dependable.
Marea — Atlantis The Royal
Italian coastal seafood at its most theatrical — the whole roasted turbot (AED 385) and the sea urchin spaghetti (AED 195) are exceptional. Beautiful room with Gulf views. For big celebration dinners where Italian meets seafood luxury. Book the terrace for sunset.
